Overall Rank = 302/612
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 44/55
Pre-race routine:

2 hours before the start of the race I ate a spaghetti and soda and i dont know what i am thinking eating it. I should have stuck to my regular power bar and banana plus Gatorade.
Event warmup:

just stretching close to the swim start and start warming up in the water 15 mins before start.
Swim
  • 15m 57s
  • 500 meters
  • 03m 11s / 100 meters
Comments:

I always been a bad swimmer , i need to do drills seriously to improve my time. Its funny being at the back of my pack i watched as some of the fast swimmers hit shallow water 2 feet deep ( not listening to instructions). The water is not that clean but its good enough for a clear line from start to finish.
What would you do differently?:

Do more serious drills and improve on front crawl.
Transition 1
  • 01m 59s
Comments:

T1 is good can be improved.
Bike
  • 48m 39s
  • 17.1 miles
  • 21.09 mile/hr
Comments:

The bike is probably the most fun of all for me i dont know how did they time me , but my Garmin time is registering 21.25 mph. I enjoy as go fast on the road at 21-23 mph. I know i could have gone faster , but dont want to burn my legs.
What would you do differently?:

Go Faster on the 5 miles.
Transition 2
  • 02m 56s
Comments:

I am reluctant to head out to the run since i noticed the Sun is high and above us.
What would you do differently?:

No matter what i should not have stayed longer in transition.
Run
  • 35m 56s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 11m 14s  min/mile
Comments:

I practiced most of my run on the dreadmill and i am paying for the price. The Sun was up and the tempt is 83F Heat index 90F.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more outdoor run under the heat i know i can improve this. It is just a matter of managing my cooling down.
Post race
Warm down:

My wife is waiting for me at the finish line . This is my slowest swim and run of them all , but i am suprised overall i am at the upper 50% which is the best so far in overall ranking.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

me practice front crawl and running under the sun and manage the heat.

Event comments:

Post race food would be nice over all its a great well run event
