  • Comments: Nice "local" sprint race. Turn-out for this race is average. It's not big, but it does have enough people around to keep you from getting lonely.. Size wide, it's similar to Katy or Firethorne. Well organized and run.

  • Comments: The parking was a fiasco and they could have used more water stations or other cooling options (people with hoses, wet towels, etc).

  • Comments: I like this race, although I do believe there are a couple areas of improvement - 1. mix up the transitions a little so that one AG doesn't have the longest run in/out each time. 2. I saw a group of people run right past the finish line (veer to the left) because the volunteer wasn't paying attention.

  • Comments: An excellent, well-organized race. I can't think of any flaws with the race organization. Everything was on-time, the courses were good, and there were plenty of volunteers.

  • Comments: The swim started late, which did not bother me but since I was in the last wave it did seem like a long time for us to get underway. As a point of refrence I was standing next to the race director waiting for my swim wave to start and it came across the radio that the first bike had come in and he was headed out to run. The bike was well marked and fun. The run was good, but hot (what do you expect in Texas) Overall this was a good race for beginners and vets. I had a lot of fun and will do it again.

  • Comments: From what I can tell this is the first race from this RD and the first race in this venue. It went pretty smooth for a first year. I think there is a pretty good chance I will do it again next year. On the positive side: 1.The bike course was really fast compared to both Tejas and Kona East side. 2.The straight swim was a nice change from circling around. 3.Plenty of volunteers / police. 4.The ice cold towel at the end was a nice touch. Maybe doing that at the aid stations would have helped. I have a few items to put in the "Improve" category. 1.Really didn't like being the last wave, on a race that started late, with 5 mins between waves. It got really hot and I don't think clydesdales generally do well in the heat. 2.For a place called Shadow Creek there was no shade. The sprinklers at the swim start could have been useful on the run. 3.They were out of water at the second aid station on the run by the time I got there. 4.I think they should have completely closed
