Comments: Started off first half at pretty decent pace but started suffering after the turn around when temps started to increase. Lost about 45sec or so to porta-john break before mile 2. Also wasn't conscious of my electrolyte pills and got to a water stop and had to stop and get the tablets and drink them as I was feeling cramps come on. What would you do differently?: Get to the race earlier and do warm-up then have time to pee before start. Also be more conscious of when to take electrolyte pills. Post race
Warm down: Not much - just checked out expo What limited your ability to perform faster: More training Event comments: Not a bad local race - biggest issue for me was there were no porta-johns on course near the course - so you had to go way off the course to find one. Woke up around 5:25am and left around 6:10am - Banana for breakfast and half a glass of water; Hit porta-john but maybe a bit early. Ran to the car and back for about a mile of warm-up then was in line again to pee but lines were way too long and had to start race.
Ran about a mile to the car and back . Messed up by not hitting the porta-john to pee and had to stop before Mile 2 of the race. Started the race about 4-5 rows behind the first guys but still had some pretty slow people in front to weave through the first half mile or so.
