Swim
Comments: Nothing spectacular. Just wanted to swim strong but not push it too hard Transition 1
Comments: pretty average.....long run from beach Bike
Comments: There was one guy ahead of me leaving transition and I caught him within the first mile or two. Still was not 100% after August illness and drop in training but felt pretty good and was kept power around 240. With TT start you never know for sure where you stand with racers that started after you. Solid bike with fastest overall split by about 2 min. What would you do differently?: Nothing....not what I would have targeted for power in most short races but bike fitness was coming around Transition 2
Comments: No problems Run
Comments: Could feel the drop in fitness from the prior month on the run. Never felt great. Pace a good bit slower than what I would have like....course maybe more like 3.25 according to Garmin. Gave up about a minute to the 2nd and 3rd place guys on the run. What would you do differently?: Gave it the best I had that day...nothing Post race
Warm down: Well, since the oly started after the sprint I was able to watch most of my team mates come out of the water. So nice to be done early....got a bunch of mean looks and comments as I "encouraged" them. Went for a cool down then cleaned up and hung around for awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: Drop in fitness prior month due to illness Event comments: Team Magic did a good job. Awesome venue and post race activities. Thanks to my team mates for racing the oly and giving me a chance to compete for overall podium. :) Last updated: 2014-09-07 12:00 AM

Up early for the drive to the Gulf. Usual pre race breakfast and hydration.
I had decided to race the sprint instead of the Olympic and most of the stronger racers were in the Olympic. Did a short run with some strides and stretching. Also got in a warm up swim.
