Run
Comments: This was kind of a day to go run and not be on my own. I had no expectations of a PR I just wanted to not do horribly. Ran on a 4:1 for the most part. I ran all of the first mile and that was a sub 12 minute mile. Knee behaved well, feet were sore. My orthotics have been making my PF flare so I bought some different ones for the race. Probably not the best idea I ever had but not sure the orthotics would be any better, What would you do differently?: Wear less clothes. I had long tights a long sleeved top and a wind breaker. It was in the 40s, VERY cold for here, when I left the house. I Tied the windbreaker around my waist for the race. Glad I had it afterwards as I was chilled. Post race
Warm down: I probably walked a good 1.5 miles afterwards to find everything. The post race activities were moved very far away. I didn't bother walking over and went back to my car and went home What limited your ability to perform faster: S/P knee surgery, have only been running a month and gingerly at that Event comments: Gasparilla is always a great race!! Got up and drove to Tampa. Got a parking spot and walked to the expo to sit. Found a chair and ate my PBJ. Went outside a bit before 9 and got in my 9:15 corral.
nada, although there were 2 kids maybe 8 years old with their coach who were inside warming up for roughly 45 minutes before the race............REALLY? They are probably twice as fast as I am.
