Swim
Comments: Canceled due to CRA CRA rain and flooding. River was a maelstrom. Bummed, as I thought I might pick up a minute or so on the competition, given where my swim was for this. Transition 1
Comments: A little confused, since there was no swim, but OK. ;) Bike
Comments: I HAMMERED this one. Figured, no swim so just drop it and see what happens. Won my AG, I think. Was a GREAT ride (for me). Transition 2
Comments: A little wobbly, but OK. Could've been 10 or 20 seconds faster, best case. Run
Comments: Nice course. First half was hard after coming off the bike. On second lap, I had a couple "targets" ahead of me and found a gear I didn't even know I had. Good training blocks lead to good fitness, I suppose! One of my fastest 10k's overall, and definitely my fastest Oly 10k (I think). Post race
Warm down: Went up and said hey to MARK ALLEN! Total fan-boy, but I played it cool and he was super nice. Event comments: Great race. Right decision to cancel the swim (river was ungodly nasty - whole trees and even a dumpster flowing down river in great, deadly swirls). They made a great race and fun day out of a weather challenge. Well done and fun! Last updated: 2015-04-08 12:00 AM

Get up early and head to the lake. Swim was canceled, so just set up and get ready for the time trial bike start. Was only partly in "race brain" mode, as this was a fun one between a 70.3 and ITU long course worlds (which did not come to pass for this racer). With swim canceled, decided that I'd try just hammering the bike (rather than "pacing") and then see what's left for the run. I like how it worked out, and I learned a thing or two.
I think I ran a mile or so before, but can't remember if that was for this race or the CapTex 10k...
