Up early, PopTart for breakfast... need to do better. That did not fill me up AT ALL. Probably need to add a little fat (peanut butter) next time.

Train better - I was crap as soon as I hit the run.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I did not respect the distance and I did not train for it.

Event comments:

I totally underestimated what it would require to race an Olympic and I blew it. The run course being soft sand would have probably been a problem for me no matter what but all in all I stunk this up. Have jumped right back in and started training (yes, actually training!) for the Pine Barrens Olympic on September 12.

Course: While I had done practice rides on the bike course I had not even looked at the run course and I was a bit dismayed to find it a lot of loose sand trails through the pine barrens. I lost my rhythm and just could not get my HR down. This is the first race of my life that I walked almost the entire run course.
