Swim
Comments: Shoulder tightened up some on the swim. What would you do differently?: Need a swim coach. Transition 1
Comments: it was pretty crowded and t1 was very long. I was pretty tired from the swim, just paced myself through t1. Bike
Comments: Was solid through mile 90, but with stomach issues and down 800 calories the last 3 hills just kicked my butt. (also altitude and moderate 90F temps added to fatigue). What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: I was totally spent after the bike and just slogged through the very long t2, leaning on my bike. Run
Comments: Started out low on calories off the bike, sucky pace, just let the training kick in took in calories and fluids as I could and increased pace from mile 1 through 13 before slowing back down mile 17 to the end. Did as well as I could (thin air, mild stomach issues, moderate heat, 10 weeks after last IM, all contributed). What would you do differently?: Nothing hit it as best I could Post race
Warm down: Hobble to car. What limited your ability to perform faster: thin air, mild stomach issues, moderate heat, 10 weeks after last IM, all contributed. All in all was a pretty good day. Event comments: Post race area was sucky with no tables or anywhere to sit down and eat, no porta poties. The post-race was really the weakest part of the entire day. The course was solid, support good, post race, meh. Last updated: 2015-08-09 12:00 AM
