Swim
Comments: Finally...swim felt great. What would you do differently?: For once- nothing! Transition 1
Comments: Transition times were not measured. T1 took me a little while when my shirt got stuck on my wet back. Bike
Comments: Tried a chocolate gel on the bike. Bad idea. It just sat in my mouth. Way too sweet. Bike was fast for me but felt really slow for some reason. However, I did manage to thank each volunteer that I passed on the course. What would you do differently?: no gel Transition 2
Comments: again, transition times were not measured Run
Comments: great day for a jog. The run felt great. Came upon another racer in an Army tri suit that was walking with cramps. When I ran past him I asked if he was going to let an Navy runner pass him. He began to run with me for a mile or so which helped to pass the time. I did manage to beat him :) Post race
Warm down: Found Kids, hung out and chatted with other racers. Ran into other tri addicts and hed the " which race to do next" discussion. Perhaps Devils Lake on Sept 17th. Also had great discussion re: best place to watch IMMOO in a few weeks. What limited your ability to perform faster: the engine Event comments: Small YMCA tri- cheap but well run. Great attitude by the race director and the staff. I'll do this one again next year. Last updated: 2006-08-17 12:00 AM

Watched my 8 year old complete his first Tri Friday night- it was awesome. Saturday AM was an 0330 wake up, peanut butter sandwich and a 2 hour drive. Set up transition , talked with a few parents from the night before and mentally prepared for the race.
I've been using an old waterskiing wetuit since I continue to lose weight and don't want to invest in a tri wetsuit until the weight stablized a little more. I cut the arms off and it worked much better.
Swam 2-300M as a warm up. The water was great.
