Swim
Comments: I barely swam all year and so I knew this wasn't going to be a great race. I felt better than anticipated in the water. Other swimmers were going all over the place and couldn't swim in a straight line to save their life. Some people were coming at me at a 45 degree angle almost. It was insane. What would you do differently?: Train more. But I knew 2016 was not going to be a good year for training. Transition 1
Comments: Should've left my cycling shoes upside down so they didn't get soaked, but I really don't know if that would've mattered anyway. What would you do differently?: Learn to run without shoes on and have them already clipped into bike and run/jump onto moving bike. Maybe a goal for 2017. Bike
Comments: I busted ass on the bike since that was my main focus this year. According to results, it looks like it barely did any good. I thought I was killin it, and told myself it was ok and I knew the run would suffer. I didn't realize how much the run would suffer until later..... What would you do differently?: Get more comfortable cornerning on a wet road. After just finishing watching The Tour, I was scary of wiping out. So I thought better safe than sorry. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Learn to dismount leaving shoes clipped in. Again, a possible goal for 2017. Run
Comments: Can't believe I came in dead last in the run. I had to walk countless times and my quads were absolutely killing me because of cramping. I knowingly went hard on the bike and knew the run would suffer, but I didn't realize it would be this much. It was absolutely horrible. To give myself a little bit of a break, I had not been training the entire year just about, but still! What would you do differently?: Train more. Post race
Warm down: Didn't warm down at all because it was pouring rain for the last 2 hours. What limited your ability to perform faster: Insufficient training all year. Event comments: Race director and volunteers did a good job as usual. I like the course, I just really sucked this time. Last updated: 2016-05-23 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4 to get ready to leave by 4:45-5. Ate a bowl of breakfast rice and some bacon at home. Ate a sausage, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich on the way, but couldn't only stomach about half of it.
There wasn't much of a chance of a warm-up because it was pouring down rain. Race got delayed twice for a total of 35 minutes. I had planned to ride on the trainer a little bit after I parked, but the rain threw all that out the window.
