Pre-race routine:

Breakfast around 8--David made French Toast, had yogurt as well. Was gonna be in the 70s so wore a T-shirt and shorts, cool breeze so kept sweatshirt on till right before race.
Event warmup:

Didn't bring my ID so had to walk back to the car to get it, then back to the car again to put my packet away--figured all that walking was a good enough warmup (more than I would have liked). Stretched while waiting at the start line while David jogged around a bit. Nice and warm so just had on a T-shirt and shorts. Breeze sl cool but was actually hot and sweat quite a bit during run. Had a Gu at the car approx 1/2 hr before the race start.

Mile 1: 9:06.30
Mile 2: 8:50.88 (17:57)
Miles 3&4: 18:01:98 (35:59)
Miles 5,6,7: 27:10.34 (1:03.09)
Mile 8: 9:07.60 (1:12.17)
Mile 9: 9:47.28 (1:22.04)--was slowly sucking on the one Gu I had during this mile, felt very sluggish along the path, was getting passed quite a bit. Needed the Gu earlier but only had the one.
Mile 10: 9:07.96 (1:31.12)
Mile 11: 9:28.78 (1:40.41)
Mile 12: 9:31.24 (1:50.12)
Mile 13.1: 10:02.96 (2:00.15)
What would you do differently?:

Needed 1 more gel--should have taken one at 4-5 miles and at 8-9. Tried to wait as long as possible to take the one I had and started to fade. Was warmer than we expected as well so was sweating more and needed to drink more as well. Took some water at every water stop--normally it's cooler out so I don't need to stop at them all but was sweating a lot. Kept jogging through all except the mile 9 one since that was the last one.
Post race
Warm down:

David was already at the finish line, I walked around a little bit and he wanted to get changed before eating so we went back to the car which we had parked across the street and to the south of the venue (industrial lot). Back to party tent for beer and lasagna, then home

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of that 2nd gel did me in--that one bad mile when I was fading I lost too much time. Felt like I did a pretty good job at the water stops not really stopping, but I did slow down at the mile 9 one. Felt like I did a good job pushing through. Tried to encourage people who were walking after mile 11 to keep going. Tutu guy ran w me briefly then he started walking again. I think this was my best time on this course, but really wanted to break 2 hrs.

Event comments:

I love this race/course. Was a little miffed that they made us show an ID at packet pickup since I didn't bring it with me and had to go back to the car, but the race itself is one of my favorites. Love the lasagna/beer post race as well. It was a beautiful day--actually a bit too warm and sunny for running, but I'll take it!
