Swim
Comments: Great swim. Last time I was so carried so fast by the current that my mind wanted me to push even faster. That made me more out of breath for the bike. Played it smarter this time and slowed down my pace. Time was about the same and I felt much better getting out. Transition 1
Comments: Did fine putting shoes on but once again, Bike
Comments: I screwed up my Garmin watch. Kept hitting the stop button instead of the "Lap" button to change which sport. Took me > 1/4 mile to get it fixed once out on the road! Once I got my dang Garmin straightened out the ride was great. Felt good. What would you do differently?: Not screw up the watch!!! :) Transition 2
Comments: Pulled into the wrong rack initially. Turned around too quickly and one of my bike shoes unclipped. Just left it and went to the correct rack. Rest of the transition was good and then I had to get up to retrieve that shoe, put it back in my transition area and then head out on the run. What would you do differently?: Pay closer attention! Run
Comments: Still had to do some walking but much less than last race. I think taping my foot helped a little with the pain and it was just a better foot day. Also since the race started 30 minutes earlier than last time it seemed a bit cooler so overall not bad. Post race
Warm down: Walked around. Did some stretching on my own. Cooled off in the fountain. There were also athletic training interns givinSg stretches and I had them stretch out my left leg since it takes a big hit compensating for my bad right foot. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lets see. Screwed up my watch, tried to rack my bike in the wrong rack...I'd say ME!! Event comments: Much more organized than the first one of the series. Last updated: 2018-07-14 12:00 AM

Got everything packed the night before. Just had to put bike and gear into the truck. Also taped my R foot to see if that would help with the pain. Got to race site and set everything up. Then checked out the river to see how strong the current was.
Dynamic stretch routine. A little jogging.
