Swim
Comments: I swam way too easy. I set myself up for a decent bike but I could've gone faster. Transition 1
Comments: I was pretty fast in this transition. No complaints here. Bike
Comments: I was passing people almost the entire bike. There were a couple local guys I know are good cyclists we kind of traded off passing each other after about half way. I should've pushed a little harder through the middle to try and catch the front group. What would you do differently?: push a little harder Transition 2
Comments: I almost dropped my bike, I almost dropped the rack. I really did not hit T2 smoothly. Run
Comments: This was definitely the best race run I have ever done. I'm not a great runner. However, my fastest open 5k training time is 21 min. So, I was able to run almost that fast after a 15mile bike on a really hot day. I'm pretty sure on a cool day I would've been fast that my open run time. running in the top 25% of all paticipants is really good for me. I definitely think my run training with BSC is helping big time! Post race
Warm down: lots and lots of fluids What limited your ability to perform faster: I didn't push myself very hard on the swim or the bike. I could've gone a little harder especially on the swim. However, I ran really well for me. Might have been the right effort. Event comments: This is a great race. Honestly, my age group is very very competitive locally. Seriously, 6 of the top 12 were all in my all in my age group and 5 of us were all within 2 min of each other! Great experience. Last updated: 2018-07-17 12:00 AM

My wife and son accompanied me to this race. There is not a race that is closer to my home. So, a quick 10-15 min drive and I was there.
I took my 6 year old son for a little jog ~500 meters and did about 5-7 min of active stretch (ie high knees, butt kicks). Then I moved down to the water for about 200 yards of swimming and got ready to go
