Swim
Comments: I had a good swim. It helped that it was wetsuit legal being my first race of the year. Didn't have a lot of trouble and felt good the entire swim. Transition 1
Comments: The swim exit and the transition area were approx. 100 yards uphill so it took a bit of time just to get to the transition area. Bike
Comments: I actually felt really good on the bike during this race. I had trained a lot harder on the bike than I did last year so I felt that was an advantage. The course was fairly hilly so that was a bit of a challenge, but coming back to transition was more flat or downhill. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I felt decent on the run course, had to push myself to not stop and walk but continued on and felt like I had a decent finish. Post race
Warm down: Walk around a bit afterwards What limited your ability to perform faster: More time dedicated to training. I felt good but know that I could be even better. Event comments: This turned out to be a decent race. This is only my second season so my comparisons are limited. The pre-race communications (days leading up to and day of race) were extremely poor. There was no real pre-race instructions regarding course, transition area or anything. Again though, as more of a beginner, once the race began I enjoyed the course and the course was fairly easy to navigate so overall a pretty decent experience in the end.
