Run
Comments: Tough day with the wind. Temp was chilly but OK. Better to be cold than hot, certainly. The wind was 22 mph, per my Garmin. I liked my Carbon X shoes but legs are a bit sore from the bounciness-esp the calf. What would you do differently?: push harder on mile 3 and 4. I didn't have it in me to dig deep today. My HR proves it. It was 3-5 bpm below my usual effort. Post race
Warm down: I got home and spun on the bike for 30 minutes. I'm finding this is the best cooldown for a running race. What limited your ability to perform faster: Mental effort. I could have gone 15-20 seconds faster with a deeper push. Event comments: It's iconic! Second oldest road race in NE, behind Boston. I rarely miss 'Thanksgiving in Manchester'. Variable weather makes it even more fun. And by doing the race, I never worry about what I can't eat on Turkey day. Love this race. Last updated: 2019-11-29 12:00 AM

Usual for this race. Get up shower/BR/eat/stretch. Take a bag with warm clothes. Leave ~8:30-8:40am, and drive across town to the back side of the start.
Usually a mile along the side streets with a few pickups. It was very chilly and quite windy. Small lines for portapotties this year and I took advantage.
