Run
Comments: My main goal was to beat Joe, and hopefully get a PR along the way. But I was okay if I blew up trying to hang with him, and it cost me the PR. Ran shoulder to shoulder for almost 3 miles. On a sharp left turn is a steep little climb, and I felt him sagging off, so I pushed up to some people ahead to create some space. Through the golf course I pushed up the hills again, and did my best not to give any back on the downs. I refused to look back, but I had a feeling I had lost him with about half the race still to go. Now I just had to keep it up and not lose focus. Given what a huge race this is with tons of speeders, I was able to work off people around me to keep going. I never looked at my watch, even after leaving Joe, which was a new but fun way to race. Saw the clock coming down to the finish and was so excited to break 55 minutes! What would you do differently?: Nothing, extremely happy with this! The year of the PR continues. Post race
Warm down: Chatted with Josh, then walked to the post race area with Joe. No cool down. Happy to get a massage before the lines formed. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing Event comments: Really excited to race this again, such a fun event. Last updated: 2023-07-10 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:15, took care of the pups, then met up with the Merlis' to ride out with them, which was a lot of fun. Some walking back and forth to get bib and drop off bag. Bagel with PB and cherries in the van, Gatorade, and TRS.
1 mile with a few short pick ups.
