Pre-race routine:

Last minute decision to attend after blowing up left hamstring on run 36 hours before race. Decided to ride Cannondale CAAD 10--newly overhauled--without aerobars. First time riding in a tri without them in probably 18 years.

Pulled left hamstring 36 hours before race. Almost didn't show up.

Event comments:

Long-running race series down to just this one race this year (used to be three in spring, one in fall). This sprint distance option is a terrific tri for first-timers. I had my first age group win at this race in 2007...also finishing the run injured (broken wrist in bike fall then, blown-up hamstring this time).
