Overall Rank = 344/1149
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 24/52
Event warmup:

Did some light stretching of the arms and shoulders.
Swim
  • 36m 14s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 13s / 100 yards
Comments:

I felt good in the water overall. I started out slow and picked it up on the last 300 yds. I thought I would have been tired but I felt great in the water. Too many people starting in this wave!!!! I was hitting people most of the swim.
What would you do differently?:

I could of definitely pushed in more in the beginning and had a quicker time. I think if I did not start in with 100+ people it would have been better.
Transition 1
  • 03m 55s
Comments:

I thought this was a good transition. The time does not look like it would reflex it, but there was a 250 yd run from the beach to the transition area.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe run alittle harder when I got out of the water.
Bike
  • 58m 39s
  • 20 miles
  • 20.46 mile/hr
Comments:

This was the worst bike triathlon I have ever done. First, the course was about 5 miles short. Second, the course was narrow when we came and exited the transition area for about the first mile. One the way back things were so crowd that you have biker coming in both directions with runner also on the same course. This was not smartly planned.
What would you do differently?:

Picked up the pace on the course.
Transition 2
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

I thought I did good in this transition area too.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe not try drinking the goo while running out of the transition.
Run
  • 53m 37s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

Ok, again this seems to be short. I felt like I was running at a 10 min/mile pace and not even close to a 8:35. It felt about 90 when I started the run. There was water stations every mile but the water was warm!!!!! Spent 100 bucks for warm water and a short race.
What would you do differently?:

Run harder.
Make sure I use the restroom before the race, so I don't have to use it during the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around the parking lot trying to find shade (which there was none). Did some light stretching and waited for my sister to come in.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Shorter bike and small bladder.

Event comments:

Ok, so I learned my lesson, don't think a race will be great just because the backer is a good name. This was the worst run race I have ever done. Atleast have the distances right!!!!! I traveled 18 hours for a big disappointment. If anyone thought this was a good race, come up to NY sometime and do any race in the finger lake triathlon series. The races up here are so much better run and they actually have the right distances.
