Pre-race routine:

Running late. Had to drop Amanda at Melody's. Basically had time to get there, put on my race belt and chip belt. Then, we walked up to the start line and stood around. I talked to John and Katie but should have been stretching
Event warmup:

None
Run
  • 30m 4s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 42s  min/mile
Comments:

Best run ever. Walked about :30 secs in the first 2 miles. Then walked about 1:45. Ran the rest of the way in, including a pretty decent sprint once I saw that the clock was coming up on 30:00
What would you do differently?:

Not walk. I could have potentially even made 29:00 if I had cut out the walk
Post race
Warm down:

rest room, sandwich, and then had to run to go get the kids.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Cold air didn't help. Conditioning getting much better

Event comments:

Best run to date. Took over 4 minutes off my time at this event from the July race. Really psyched about finally getting to that 30:00 barrier. My ultimate goal is to get down close to 25:00 and I moving in the right direction. I've come down another 2:00 since the Hilton Head sprint in Sept.
