Swim
Comments: Disappointing to get out of the water with a 44 minute swim when all your math and training yielded a 38 minute swim. Worse off was the fact that 3/4 of the distace I ws way off the course. As soon as i got out of the water I knew I would have to make up some serious time to reach goal. What would you do differently?: Pay better attention to navigation and to position. Transition 1
Comments: It was a long run from the shore to T1. I did it well. I maintained a moderate pace from the shore enjoying the crowd- which was amazing! Rankings What would you do differently?: Nothing really. It went as smooth as it could have gone. Bike
Comments: Strong Bike. There is nothing better than I could have done over 56 miles on a windy course with many climbs and other athletes while maintaining a manageable HR. What would you do differently?: Give up speed for a lower Avg HR. Trade 7 A-BPM for a better run. Transition 2
Comments: A GREAT T2. Made sure to take all the crap off my feet before i put on the socks and shoes. I had everything ready to go. What would you do differently?: Nada Run
Comments: Off the bike i ran my first mile at a 7:20 pace and I felt great!!! The i entered the grass and off road area. It all went to shit. The course was crappy grass and dirt and un-even grade. Then ADD 2,048 runners going in circles for 3 loops (approx 4 miles per loop) and now you get the picture. Almost like the final scene of Titanic when all the people are miserable and running for a way off the ship. Mile 10 I twisted my ankle on the grass. The floor was FULL of cups and sponges from the other athletes that had run through a few times and I almost slipped. This did NOT affect my poor performance although I would have liked to see the terrain better. I was happy to see the finish line. What would you do differently?: Train HARDER, Run more on off road terrain. keep my shoes dry when I water myself down. Post race
Warm down: Nothing. Sat down and met up with the family and the Buds. What limited your ability to perform faster: Back spasms the day before. A 10 hour day at the Magic Kingdom the day before and campfire night. Event comments: I was really expecting a bigger event for the fee. This being a WTC/ Ironman event. The expo was the worst I have seen- except for Longleaf. A race of this prestige should be blowing the doors off St. Anthonys- as far as perks. I was disappointed. I don't know if I would repeat for the money I spent. Last updated: 2006-12-01 12:00 AM

Nada. This race requires so much energy that i did not want to waste any of it warming up.
