Run
Comments: Started with a loop of Museum Row by Nassau Colisieum onto Merrick Ave. Proceeded to Old Country Road into westbrury then East on Jericho Turnpike, where the wind hit you in the face for mile 6-8. Turn around at Brush Hollow (I think). Headed onto the Wantagh Parkway for 1 1/2 miles. Down Carman Ave and into Eisenhower Park for the finish. I paced myself perfectly, did the first 3 miles at 26:30 and pushed the pace once we hit mile 6. The last 2 miles were difficult, Luckily I got pushed along by the person I was running with. What would you do differently?: Put in a few more long runs in my training. Overall I am very happy with my time for my first 1/2 mary. Post race
Warm down: Had some gatorade and water. Grabbed some fruit and a bagel. Walked the 1/2 mile back to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: The wind. Event comments: Great race, I will be back again next year. Last updated: 2007-01-06 12:00 AM

I got up and had half a bagel and peanut butter. Drove over to Eisenhower Park.
Met up with my friend in the parking lot and walked the 1/2 mile to the start line. It was windy and cold compared to the day before. We stood between the two baggage trucks to block the wind.
