Rode about 5 miles easily to stretch the legs and make sure the biek was working right
Swim

Comments:

Decent swim - same exact time from last year. I felt like I didn't site as well as last year. I also started later so I had a lot more people around me that I had to pass. Things didn't go as smoothly for me, but I felt more relaxed and more fresh when I got out of the water than last year.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 1

Comments:

I couldn't get the wetsuit off very easily. After I got it off, things went smoothly

Comments:

Average ride. I felt good coming out of the water, and started fairly strong. I never felt like I was really hammering it. The bike didn't fell as smooth as I would have liked. I need to remember t get it tuned up beofre the next big race. I felt good coming off, but I definitely could have been a minute or so faster
What would you do differently?:

push a little harder throughout the bike
Transition 2
  • 01m 31s
Comments:

decent T2, no real issues
What would you do differently?:

Run
  • 46m 56s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 34s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt good on the run, comfortably hard. I coasted a bit in the middle trying to save something for the finish. Overall it worked out OK. I wanted to average 7:30s and was 4 sec per mile off that. I ran the first couple of miles with a guy form Kansas and we talked until he pulled away from me. I kept him in site adn he only beat me by 20 sec or so
What would you do differently?:

Lose the jersy before running. I was pretty hot and would have been more comfortable without the shirt
Post race
Warm down:

walked around the race site, changed clothes, put htebike up, ate some crappy burned BBQ

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I could have pushed a little harder, especially on the bike and a little on the run. I could have run at least 2:17, but I think 2:15 wasn't a real possibility for me yet. I have to get faster on the bike.

Event comments:

Again this year, this is an outstanding race. Great organization especially for a race this size. The bike roads had some rough pavement, but short of paving the entire city, I don't know what could be done about this. The run was good, good water stations, miles marked well. Overall, an excellent race. It's fun seeing the really fast guys, too.
