Swim
Comments: Swim was fast, maybe a bit short. What would you do differently?: Try to stay with the leaders more. I did not runsh into the water and I think that by doing tis I missed my chance to draft off the faster guys. I was by myself for a good part of the swim. Transition 1
Comments: It was tough getting through Transition being wet and now it was raining. Did not really realize how cold it was at this point. What would you do differently?: Cover my stuff with a chance of rain, and wear more clothes. Bike
Comments: I was doing this race as a training race and with the conditions, I was not going to get hurt. I really slowed and went easy around turns and down hills. What would you do differently?: Eat more. It was so cold that it hurt to chew. It was also hard to get food out of my back pockets with feezing hands and a vest over my jersey. Transition 2
Comments: This was slow. My feet and hands were numb so I really struggled during this transition. The rain had let up and I tried getting a dry shirt on over a wet tri-top...very difficult. What would you do differently?: Speed laces. Have my stuff more prepared for the run. Run
Comments: I did not eat enough on the bike and died on the run. Had to stop at a few stations and really chow down. I walked a lot but I did not want to hurt myself. What would you do differently?: Eat more on the bike to set up my run. Keep feet warmer so it wouldnt feel like I was running on nubs for the first few miles. Post race
Warm down: I hadnt even warmed up. What limited your ability to perform faster: Weather, food intake. Event comments: It was tough to really judge this race bc of the conditions. Nobody really hung out after. I did have a cold one with Mark (Rollinbones) and JohnnyKay after the race which was nice. Woke up early to eat a good size breakfast with lots of carbs and lots of calories. Pancakes, and a cup of joe. Banana before the race also.
Got in the water to warm up. It wasnt raining yet and I thought that this would have been the coldest part of the day but it wasnt. Swam and warmed up. Actually elt comfortabl in the water.
