Swim
Comments: Started too fast. Way to fast. First time in a wetsuit in an OWS Situation. Lost my breath and it was all splashing to the end from there. What would you do differently?: Pratice, practice, practice. I have to get in more pool time, and OWS Time. I sail most weekends on Lake Ontario, so that should not be a problem. Will have to calm down and swim my swim next time. Transition 1
Comments: since it was a try-a-tri the transition times were not calculated. Bike
Comments: I was very comfortable on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: quick. Not timed. Run
What would you do differently?: If I were to do this distance again, I would have given some more effort right off the bike since the run is so short. Post race
Warm down: Hug my Wife, and cheer the rest of the field on. What limited your ability to perform faster: More training would be good especially on the swim. Lose more weight. I weighed in at 266lbs on race morning, which was down from 294 in January. Dropping weight is the number one thing I can do to improve. Event comments: Since this was my first race, I do not think it would be fair to rate it. However, I did enjoy it and will come back next year for the regular tri. The park is picturesque, and the lake, since it is small is much warmer then Lake Ontario this early in the season. Last updated: 2007-01-31 12:00 AM
