Run
Comments: Ran with Karen the entire time (which was awesome)! We tried to keep our form good and remember the things we learned the day before at the Evolution Running clinic. Felt good for the entire run (despite very cold headwinds). Was very fun to run with Karen, especially since we wore our matching fleece cat hats (will load photos once they're developed). Sprint at the finish to end strong. Rank in females only was 625/1796 What would you do differently?: Nothing. Wasn't sure if I would be warm enough before we got out of the car. I am always hot on runs and didn't want to overdress. Ended up being perfect (1 SS shirt and 2 LS shirts). Carried water bottle which was great to have my own water (since there was only 1 water stop). Post race
Warm down: Stretched a little and waited right at the finish line to cheer on Mike. We grabbed water and a chocolate chip cookie and then hit the road. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. A great race! Event comments: This race was close and fun with a great course. There were several bagpipers on the course too which was cool. The out and backs are great in DC because there was a lot to look at and people to watch. Plus it was very fun to run with Karen and Mike! Last updated: 2007-02-05 12:00 AM

Karen, Mike and I were in the car by 7am and in DC by 7:45ish. Found a money parking spot a block away from the race start. We froze as we picked up our packets and then sat in the car to stay warm.
Enjoyed the warm car before heading to the port-o-potties 20 minutes before the start.
Ate a GU 10 minutes before the start and tried to stay warm in the sun.
It was windy and cold!
