![]() Swim
Comments: Welcome to OWS....I need a lot of practice in the ocean. I went into this one blind having not done an OWS in saltware and for a moment or two had seriouse thoughts of giving up in the 1s5 150....after that the tention released a little and I pressed on...but this one was a real eye opener about the amount of swim training I lack. For me this wasnt a distance problem but a salt in the mouth and nose problem. ...much work to do. What would you do differently?: perhaps an open water swim or two before the event :) not much other than force myself to swim head down and just deal with it. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: this race was split into two 4 mile bikes and one 2 mile run as well as a 1 mile run....swim, bike, run, bike, run finshe What would you do differently?: I was happy overall with all of the transitions ![]() Bike
Comments: Seem to be fater on the 2nd bike stage...over all slow, slow, slow. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: see t1 comments ![]() Run
Comments: supprised about the sand..I think that was a last minute course change...going over the beach access and down the stairs was hard on the legs after swimming and biking. Overall I felt good about the run... I am marking "below average" becase this isn't average time for me. What would you do differently?: in general I want to add more beach running into my training...I enjoyed the course layout. ![]() Post race
Warm down: a little walking and a sandwich to "try" to get the taste of salt water out of my mouth. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training.. Event comments: I loved the race and would do it again in a heat beat. This was a very fun event, I plan to be more competitive next year. Last updated: 2007-02-13 12:00 AM
