Swim
Comments: I had a horrible swim. This should have been atleast a sub 12 w/ a wetsuit. The sun was just in a spot that blinded my sighting and I could not for the life of me find the course. Add to that going off 3 min. behind a sea of clydedales & over 40's that couldn't swim and yuck - one of my worst swims. What would you do differently?: Not much under my control, I don't know that given the same circumstances I could have had any other swim. Transition 1
Comments: Pretty fast T1 for a wetsuit race. Felt good, just a little pissed at the swim - maybe that made me faster!! What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: Great bike for me, I actually suprised myself! I loved riding with the guys and passed a lot of guys! Only had one woman pass me (the one that won my age group) Rode so hard my legs were shaking, but then just kept riding. Here is where the IM training is paying off!! What would you do differently?: Fasten my aerobottle better!! Transition 2
Comments: I think my legs were a little shakey here, I dropped way down in my time here but I'd rather have the bike I had & loose 15 sec. in T2 than have a slower bike to gain 15 sec. here! What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: So I need to work on run speed after IM, I was 4th in the swim, 4th in the bike and 16th on the run! This was truly all I had on this course. I was panting I was running so hard. The 2nd place in my AG passed me and I tried to keep up and just couldn't do it. Still an ok run for me, 4 min. faster than last year's run! What would you do differently?: run faster?! Post race
Warm down: Just walked around smiling knowing that I was in the top 10 women! What limited your ability to perform faster: Bad swim, not a fast runner! Event comments: I love this course, even though it's in the middle of nowhere it is a beautiful, clean fun race! Last updated: 2007-02-18 12:00 AM

Stayed in a B&B in Hot Springs Friday. Didn't get much sleep. Got up & got dressed, the innkeepers were nice enough to let me fix my grits & they had some fruit & stuff I couldn't eat.
Took my bike out to get my gearing right & got in the water to fill the wetsuit and warm up my arms right before the start.
