Comments: I started at the front of the pack and it wasn't long before I was passed by the rabbits. On this day, I felt like a rabbit due to my position at the start. The first mile was just right but I talked myself into thinking it was to fast so I surely slowed downed during mile 2 and this is were I lost some valuable seconds. What would you do differently?: Wake up early, take a GU prior to start, trust myself, and attack that last mile. Overall I'm very happy with my performance. ![]() Post race
Warm down: I got something to drink, checked the finish line to see if they needed help. Then I met some friends and waited for Anica to finish. I failed to do my stretches afterwards. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing, I was happy with my performance, next year it will be a sub 47. Event comments: Good race, organized very well. I will race this one again. I got up late, so I didn't go through my normal routine. I left the house without eating breakfast and doing my morning stretches. I had a boost during the drive to volunteer for the race.
I made several bathroom visits prior to race start. This was probably due to waking up late and my system was out of routine. I did my physical therapy strectches prior to the start in order to stretch my SI joints. I forgot to take my GU 10 minutes prior to start although I looked at it while getting my IPOD.
