Total Time = 2h 09m 43s
Overall Rank = 286/307
Age Group = 30-39
Age Group Rank = 67/69
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 3AM, fell back to sleep at about 4:30. Woke up at 6:30, felt pretty good.
Event warmup:

Had a Clif bar 1.5 hours before the start, stretched a little, had a gel, and then swam a little to get used to the water.
Swim
  • 19m 43s
  • 805 meters
  • 02m 27s / 100 meters
Comments:

Ugh. I had done a few OWS's to prep, but I just couldn't get my breathing right. I did a lot of backstroke to help my breathing.
What would you do differently?:

More practice, work on breathing technique.
Transition 1
  • 03m 33s
Comments:

Not bad for my first transition ever. Only thing that slowed me down was the chin straps for my helmet somehow got screwed up.
What would you do differently?:

Not much, other than get a helmet with better straps.
Bike
  • 1h 00m 37s
  • 14.3 miles
  • 14.15 mile/hr
Comments:

I felt really good on the bike, which explains why my average speed ended up so low. I had a mountain bike with road slicks added on.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder, and if I'm going to keep doing these get a road bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m 51s
Comments:

Pretty easy transition since I did not change shoes. Just had to get my helmet off and hat on.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 45m 1s
  • 3.5 miles
  • 12m 52s  min/mile
Comments:

It was hot out there! It just felt like I had nothing left, and did a lot of walking. The only advantage to this was I had enough left in the tank to run at a decent clip coming in to the finish. I heard a lot about problems at the water station at the turn around, but it wasn't too bad by the time I got there.
What would you do differently?:

Generally build up my running stamina. I had only done a couple of 5K's before this, so doing one (plus .4 mi.) after the other 2 events wore me down.
Post race
Warm down:

Hugged my wife, had some Gatorade, cracked open a beer.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My weight, and my relative newness to the whole thing.

Event comments:

My goals were to finish, and hopefully not finish last. I would have loved to have finished in less than 2 hours, but I'll take my time considering that prior to February I had never run more than a mile at once. Fun race, and it felt great to finish.
