Pre-race routine:

I usually prepare everything the night before but I didn't do this this time. I woke up one hour early and got together my bike and all of my running gear. I was out sort of late the night before for a art show, but I did not have any of the free wine. Right before the race, let's just say, I had stomach issues. Oh, and I took Friday off of running.
Event warmup:

I stretched a bit and took a GU 15 minutes before the race. I was feeling nervous as usual.

Comments:

My first mile I kept thinking, "Gosh this is hard. I am out of shape. I am just not feeling this today." Then, I realized why. It was a 7 minute, 15 second mile! Way too fast (but i think it got me my final time). I slowed down and did my slowest mile in mile 2. Then, I evened out.
What would you do differently?:

I don't know that I would do anything differently. I really pushed myself beyond what I thought I could do. I wish I could have gotten 50 minutes but I don't know where I could have made up that time.
Post race
Warm down:

drank some vitamin water, watched other runners come in, stood in the cold for a while waiting for buses. did not stretch like I shoudl have.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

again, don't know how i could have gone faster.

Event comments:

great race. the only problem was the buses.
