Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4:01. Ate normal breakfast, two egg sandwiches with some water. I also had some coffee to get the heart rate going right away. Then I got into the car and drove to the race got there about 5:30. Setup my stuff and was done getting ready a little after 6.
Event warmup:

Rode the bike for 5 minutes, stretched. Felt good

Transition 1
  • 03m 14s
Comments:

My transition was not what it needed to be.
What would you do differently?:

Practice this more and get better at it.
Bike
  • 1h 31m 22s
  • 29 miles
  • 19.04 mile/hr
Comments:

Decent bike. I got lost and ended up doing an extra 4 or so miles which stinks.
What would you do differently?:

Need to get MORE time on the bike to improve my riding skills.
Transition 2
  • 01m 53s
Comments:

Got feet out, but didn't get off the bike very well.
What would you do differently?:

Practice this more.
Run
  • 1h 00m 39s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 09m 47s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt fine on the run. Legs were dead from the bike and I could not get any speed going on the run. Felt fine, just legs felt like dead weight
What would you do differently?:

More brick workouts.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough brick workouts and getting lost on the bike

Event comments:

Not having enough volunteers and letting bikers get lost on the bike (there was a lot of them) is really crappy. It was frustrating considering my time would have been an improvement on last year, but now I will never know. Worked too hard for stuff like that.

Run was a one mile loop with a single aid station. Sufficient, but a little bit nicer course could have been laid out I think.
