  • 19.48 mile/hr
Comments:

I had a great ride considering the hills and i do not get to train them much - i will take this time. I went all out on the downhills and engaged most of the time - max speed was 35.4mph. I ran into Sean on the massive Colonial climb, as he had beat me out of the water.
What would you do differently?:

Train more hills
Transition 2
  • 02m 35s
Comments:

Met up with Sean in T2 and prepared for the ride - I had lost both of my bottles and gels, but i had some iin T2 so i used them.
Run
  • 1h 04m 36s
  • 5 miles
  • 12m 55s  min/mile
Comments:

Sean ran with me the entire way - he could have saved 15 minutes by going it alone, but he hung back with me. He kept chatting which really helped me. The walk 1 and run 4 helped a lot as well. This was my best run pace in a race yet. My knees were locking up by miloe 4 so i had pushed everything i had so i feel happy about that.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training and excess weight

Event comments:

This was my favorite race thus far mostly because the people i love the most in the world were involved in it and it is the reason i began doing tris in the first place. I canot wait until next year's race.
