  • Comments: Race sucked. Not in as good a shape as last year, my run and bike training times were better. I really thought the swim would be better but this lake seems to be in my head. Need to nail it next year. My plan for the intangile of having done the race before would automatically make me faster did not work. I was faster in my second West Point in part because of experience, but also because I was in better shape and it was not as hot.

  • Comments: All in all I have to be happy w/ the race b/c it was my first all of my times are PBs! And based on my times I am within range of meeting my goal of breaking 3hrs in the NYC Tri in July. That being said, I am very disappointed in my swim. I have to get more comfortable in OW, I know I don't have enough time to become a good swimmer this season, but if I can stay calm and be a little more efficent I can work my way from aweful to very bad. On the other hand I am very happy w/ the other two legs of the race. B/c of my swim debacle I now know that I can go pretty hard on the bike and still have legs to run, what is for me, a good pace. I also have to say that I have a new found respect for anyone who has even attempted a tri and especially for those who excel at them. The time and courage it takes to sign up for, train and complete even a sprint is significant.

  • Comments: It was great seeing Mark (rollinbones) during the run, I knew he would catch up, when I didnt see him on the bike I knew I'd see him on the run. I did and his pace was just way too fast to stick with.

  • Comments: First time at Wykoff. A large race, but run very well. I really liked everything about it and will defintely return. I was shooting for 1:45 but I'm happy w/ my time. I was a little slower on the swim than last week but I continue to work on the bilateral and I know that will only make stonger by August. Everything seems to be coming together for me. I'm real happy with the results (just missed my 2nd top ten AG finish). More importanly tho, all facets including conditioning are improving. I had a blast and good results to boot. I'm not sure I can maintain that run pace for 13.1 miles but the bike felt about right. I've got one more tune-up before Timeberman!!
