Swim
Comments: water was very cold, slops at the start help keep your feet warm while standing on the cold sand. What would you do differently?: It was a good swim in the cold conditions. I certainly recommend getting your body used to the water before the race. Transition 1
Comments: My usual struggle with the wetsuit is a real pain in the a.. What would you do differently?: practice taking thee wetsuit off or spraying something on my ankles to get more lubrication. Bike
Comments: Something was wrong with my speedometer which kept me guessing my speed, missed one water bottle pass off as I was going to fast and I dropped the bottle. What would you do differently?: Train on more hills as usual. Transition 2
Comments: I came 6th overall and 1st in my age group for T2, wish they would give medals for this. Run
Comments: Transition was excellent I felt very comfortable, the first 6 miles were ok. It was wamr but I used water at each station to cool down. Then I ran past the turn around, through the finish line and everybody thought I had finished. I got all stressed out and ran back up to the turn around. They did adjust my time which was nice of them. What would you do differently?: Pay more attention to signs. Post race
Warm down: Stretches and lots of nutrition, I also headed straight for the cold lake and stood in there for at least 10 minutes. What limited your ability to perform faster: The run was tough especially the second loop but I think part of this was due to the fact that I was stressed because I missed the turn around. Event comments: Greg really does and excellent job! He organized the neoprene caps and sold them at cost. A solid outfit! Last updated: 2007-05-09 12:00 AM

Usual breakfast, then drove down to the staging area. Kept hydrating and heating prior to race.
Got set up and headed straight for the water as the water was very cold. Threw myself in to get used to the temperature. It was freezing, instant ice cream headache. Then went to find the neoprene caps they were selling.
