Comments: My first transition was a little slow. I didn't dry off enough, and my clothes were sticking to me and I got frustrated. What would you do differently?: Dry off better so everything went on easier Bike
Comments: Not a bad bike, but not great. The start was a tough climb, and my heart rate soared. I finally recovered and had a good second loop. What would you do differently?: Train harder on hills. More fluids. Transition 2
Comments: When I went to rack my bike, someone had taken my spot. Pissed me off a little. What would you do differently?: Wrok on taking shoes off during the ride. Run
Comments: Awful run. The hills killed me. The heat killed me. What would you do differently?: More hill training, and more late morning training. Post race
Warm down: Walked around village, static streching. Lots of water and snacks. Ate breakfast with my family. What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat. Event comments: Good race overall. My wife had to take over one of the watering stations because the kids there were just goofing off and throwing water at each other. Lots of hills. My goal was to finish in under 2 hours, and I did so I am very happy about that. My personal best time. I couldhave cut 10 minutes off of my time if I had a better run. Smoothie for breakfast. Arrived about 6:30. Gel and water 10 minutes prior to start.
Walked parts of the run course to get a feel for the area. Did dynamic streching as part of the walk. Some static streching 15 minutes prior.
