Swim
Comments: This was absurd. I started 19th and had the 3rd fastest split of the day. I guess I'll have to start lying about my swim times like the people who somehow always end up starting in front of me. This isn't that big of a deal in open water, but in a pool you get stuck behind slower swimmers. I passed one lady who was swimming breaststroke!!! What would you do differently?: start farther up. I should have started 1st in this race. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Every year I hope that when I hop on the bike for my first race bike split things will be magically better. I rode okay today, but early on in the ride I knew that I'm about where I was last year on the bike. I need to put more miles in if I want to get faster. What would you do differently?: train more. Transition 2
Run
Comments: A decent run (the transition time is included in the run split). I realized about half way through though that I'm still not in shape. I started getting that old familiar "about the throw up" feeling. Post race
Warm down: none. I grabbed my stuff, some food for Karen and Izzy, and went home. Event comments: As always, Team Magic puts on the best races in the country. Last updated: 2007-06-04 12:00 AM

Woke up early and made some Oatmeal. I had a bottle of Spark to wake me up. Karen woke Izzy up and we headed out the door about about 5:45am.
Ran about 5 minutes - no bike - no swim.
