Swim
Comments: Swam much better; still took too many breaks, but swam freestyle the whole way. Waited a few seconds to let the wave get ahead of me and give me more room. What would you do differently?: Take fewer breaks and just get into a rythm and swim; Definitely low hanging fruit for a few minute improvement; More OWS practice to get even more comfortable with OW and lack of visibility Transition 1
Comments: This is based on my watch, not official, since they don't time it well. Transition was pretty slow; Could definitely move a little faster Bike
Comments: Good bike; took hills well and passed many people; felt pretty strong What would you do differently?: Maybe could have attacked the early part of the course more aggressively, but I wanted to save my legs for the Tiorti brook climb and the run Transition 2
Comments: Need to be a little quicker and move more urgently Run
Comments: Run was better than horrible run at Pawling, but still need to increase pace and push myself more. Back started to cramp on last half of the run, which I managed with 2 walk breaks. Need to give up walk breaks for such a short run. Post race
Event comments: Second times the charm. This performance was much better than last week at Pawling. Swim was good and I got over the panic attacks of Pawling. Bike was really good. Run was average, but much better than Pawling. Great race and a lot of fun. I finally felt like a real triathlete! Clear areas for improvement. West Point Tri here I come!
