Swim
Comments: Swim was wierd. The lake was low so there was quite a bit of walking out on the course. Hard to believe but it finally got deep. I tried to get into a rhythm but I started to wheeze and force air down my lungs. I eventually caught my breathe. I wasn't going to travel all the way up to Musselman and DNF because I can't breathe. That is not an excuse!! What would you do differently?: Take an extra puff of my inhaler Transition 1
Comments: Wet suit took some time. Need more practice with that. What would you do differently?: More OWS with suit Bike
Comments: By the time I got out on the bike course pretty much everyone was gone! Some one yelled at me 'You are smiling!' I said 'Yes, I'm just letting everyone get a head start'. And with that I started my adventure. I was told by everyone what a beautiful course it was and I have to definitely agree! I forgot now and then to actually race. I was looking at the lake and the landscape and the beautiful everything! I saw lots of roadkill to include a deer in one of the ditches along side the road. Well, the water stops was by far fun.. Yelling 'TOPS OFF!' seems to be a puzzler to some volunteers.. Bless their hearts.. but not to worry, I had plenty of fluids I was just getting fresher ones. My nutrition was all brand new so I had to use this as a baseline. Lots of lessons learned. I went through 2 raining spells. I cramped up during the first ride through only to find that the course had me take a U-Turn right back into the same shower! Same cramp. More scenery to watch as I stroll through the country side and eventually get back in the game after I saw my watch and my speed of 13 mph. I came back in and racked my bike.. DONE!! What would you do differently?: Get in the game! But this was all about nutrition and new equipment. I'll take the experience and the before and after memories any day! Post race
Warm down: Drank my recovery drink, some more liquids, sat around and chatted with everyone. Caught up on the latest and greatest of Rstocks3 2nd place AG and 8th Overall, such a stud. RKreuser's 1st in Aquabike. Matt (mini-bob) took 3rd in his tri.. adorable! What limited your ability to perform faster: New equipment new nutrition.. more things to list.. I will get better.. I know I will. I have the distance its getting all the creases out.. Event comments: I just want to say Kudos to everyone who helped and volunteered for all the races. My thing is, if I'm not racing I'll volunteer. It's my way of giving back to the sport. I met soo many new people and finally got to hug necks of everyone we've 'typed' to in chat or talked to on the phone from across the country. I miss everyone already and look forward to meeting and racing again with everyone.. Thanks to Bob, Matt, Matt, Kristen, Rick, Tommy, Mike, Mike, Mike, Chris, Ron, Ken and soo many others along our journey. Can't say it enough.. An awesome experience ;) Last updated: 2007-06-08 12:00 AM

Got my wake up call from my 'Snooze Button' at 3:45. I wouldn't have it any other way. I ate a banana and some gluten free crackers. I'm still learning my new diet/nutrition I didn't think I could stomach an orange that early. I was going to go back to sleep but decided to lay there and bring myself out of slumber. Being a 'Troll' under K's bed can take a lot out of you..
The only warm up I had was the porta potty and then getting into my wet suit.
