Pre-race routine:

woke about 5:30 Am and had 2 strawberry nutra grain bars and 3 very small cups of coffee
Event warmup:

spent most of warmup time in the line for the jon. Did get a small short swim in.

Comments:

Swim started off very poorly. I could not get a breathing rythm down and think I had some mental games being played in my head and think I psyced myself out.

This was the first time I had swim this distance open water with no suit on and I think that crutch really wrecked me.

It was also very dishearting to see everyone in front of me cut the course and totally avoid the yellow turn buoy and head right for the next orange. Karma will get them!

As I was there racing for the finish I completed all turns and did do as the others.

I also caught a cramp about half way thru swim and embarassingly enough had to call a boat over so I could hold on and get the cramp out. (no forwad movement was made while holding on)
What would you do differently?:

Im not sure. I just need to get more comfortable in the water.

Bike went really good and was over before I knew it. I think I could have went a bit harder but I was trying to pace myself so I didnt crash on the run.

Ate a strawberry uncrustable at mile 13 and that was perfect
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try and go harder and practice on more hills/rollers! Definatly want to get an aero helmt and wheels.

stressed a bit when I pulled in and saw all the bikes in T2 and knowing that meant almost everyone was already on the run.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more. Everything went smoothly but I could be faster.

I did good and ran the entire route. It was not fast at all but I did run the whole thing. I hydrated well and had a accelarde GU at mile 4.

It was really hot so I ran each mile with a water in hand and would drink and pour on head.

sang Marine Corps cadences to myself to get my mind off the run and worked really well!

really need to work on endurance,

Lack of endurance, Mental abilty to overcome the swim.

Good race overall an cant wait for next year to beat this years time!
