Swim
Comments: I really screwed up. The water is very shallow most of the way. So for a while everyone was running through the water, then when it got deep and you couldn't touch bottom I lost it. I don't know what I was doing but I wasn't putting my head under and swimming how I know I can swim. I felt out of breath, so I did backstroke for a bit. Then I got a few good strokes of front crawl in. Before I knew it is was shallow again, so back to water running/walking. What would you do differently?: Not panic in open water. Also I'm not sure where the timing mat was, but when I got out of the water my watch said 6 mins, some seconds. But my official swim time is 7:15.....so I don't know, but oh well. Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good transition What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: I'm most disappointed with my bike time. Every time I looked at my computer I was in the 16 or 17mph range, occasionally 18 (my goal was 16). A couple times I was doing 14mph. So I was sure my time would be better than what it was. I think it comes down to not enough time in saddle. What would you do differently?: More biking Transition 2
Comments: Decent T2 What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Started out feeling really crappy....just exhausted. But by 1.5 miles I was able to pick it up a bit. I need to figure out what's causing stomach cramps, though. Every race I get them on the run, it's like a side ache but not just on my side. This is the only portion of the race I'm satisfied with. What would you do differently?: More bricks Post race
Warm down: Eat and drink. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough training, this was just a warm-up event I guess you could say. And, 2 days of biking a week is probably not enough for me. My nutrition has been really bad the past month as well. My appetite is just hardly existant, so that could have some doings with my performance. I've been taking Ensure the past couple days to try and get some calories. Over the past month I have days where I feel miserable, and days I feel just ok. I'm thankful I felt ok today, or I may not have been able to race. Event comments: Pretty good race....I think it was better organized this year as oppossed to last year when I volunteered. Last updated: 2007-06-10 12:00 AM

Got up at 5, kind of tired as yesterday was my cousin's wedding in Sturgeon Bay. Ate cup of applesauce and some water. Then just got ready to go.
None.......I REALLY need to start warming up though.
