Swim
Comments: This was my first OWS. I wasn't too comfortable tearing out into the water at full sprint. I jogged till about half calf, and then though, what the crap am I doing, RUN YOU IDIOT!!! So I took off and dove and it was on. I am told that I veared a little off course on the first leg, but realized and corrected. At first turn I pulled up and caught my breat as I rounded the corner, and then off again. I closed on the guy infront of me alot faster than expected and took a foot to the eye. Thank goodness my goggles didnt' come off. I decided to let it eat a little on the last stretch and came out of the water pumped!!! What would you do differently?: I still need some practice on the open water swimming. I would also lower my estimated time so I could start with people a little faster in the water... Transition 1
Comments: Long run up stairs to T1. Again, being in the "pack" kills me so I took two step at a time. Lost some time putting on my gloves. Why do I need them you ask??? I don't know. I think next time I will just blast off on my noble steed instead of trying to prepare for an afternoon ride. What would you do differently?: I am still having trouble getting clipped in. But, this time I didn't almost crash into the barries, so I guess that is a plus! Bike
Comments: This was exactly what I expected. In practicing I knew it would be a bummer and it was. I felt good though. I stuck with the same pack of riders the whole time which made me feel like I was right where I needed to be. We jockied back an forth on the hills and strait aways. I had one almost crash with a lady who broke out behind me and I didn't see her as I came out to pass someone. I could have used a heads up before she was on my back wheel, but disaster avoided! What would you do differently?: Train, train and train hard. I did the bike course around the time I expect. I worked hard on the hills and climbed them with relative ease, but found that I didn't have anything for the strait aways. I have to find a strong balance between the two. Transition 2
Comments: This usually comes with great ease, altough I went down the wrong isle and had to break into the run exit to get to my station. Thankfully no one was coming. What would you do differently?: I really want to figure out this taking the feet out of the shoes before dismounting. Last time I tried it was a bad deal... Run
Comments: Wow I stink at the run. Altought I didn't stop the whole time. I was able to master the dreaded side stich this time which was HUGE!!! What would you do differently?: I really have to start running alot more! I mean stick to a gradually building schedule and get this monkey off my back. Post race
Warm down: Nothing too special, just got some agua and cooled down a little. What limited your ability to perform faster: Overall I was pleased with my performance. This race has truly motivated me to step it up alot. I LOVE THIS SPORT!!! Congrats to all who participated. Event comments: Thanks Team Magic for a great time... Last updated: 2007-06-11 12:00 AM

Woke up with the nerves. I had a rough go with my entree friday night. The pasta came with fried shimp, which for me was a no no. And then I polished off a whole slive of snicker cheesecake. So, I am sure this was the source of my queeziness.
Got set up in transition area and decided to take a quick swim out to the first bouy. This was huge for me because I alwasy seem to make excuses for not warming up. It really helped to calm me down. Oh yea, and sorry the the lady whose butt I accidetly grazed while swimming, if you read this, it was truly an accident!!!
