Comments: Expected the swim to be the worst and it was... What would you do differently?: PRACTICE MORE SWIMMING!!! Transition 1
Comments: Need to work on transitions more. What would you do differently?: Jog to and from transition site faster. Pull wetsuit off ankles faster. Bike
Comments: Biking is my strong leg. Did my goal race pace. Could have gone a little faster if I didn't get slowed from sitting behind cars trying to pass other racers. What would you do differently?: Corner a little better. Use aerobars more. Transition 2
Comments: Took too long getting socks on for the run. Next time I need to use socks that have different inside color/design than outside. Couldn't figure out whether I was putting the socks on backwards or not. What would you do differently?: See above comments Run
Comments: Left hamstring crampped bad in the first 1/4 mi of the run. Had to stop and massage it out. Then get into my run groove and slowly increased pace as the run progressed. What would you do differently?: Figure out why I crampped and prevent it from happening. Post race
Warm down: Celebrated my first tri w/ my buddy who introduced me to tri's. Also celebrated completion w/ other 2 buddies who did the race w/ me. It was the first time for my other friend as well... (i.e. 2 veterans and 1 newbie friends). GREAT DAY! :) What limited your ability to perform faster: experience Event comments: Fun race... Got up at 4:30 am. Double checked my bags. Loaded up the car with my race buddy. Stopped at Dunkin Donuts, ate half a plain wheat bagel toasted and a little coffee. Got to the race, set up transition stuff, got numbered and chip. Warmed up then put on my wetsuit.
Quick 10-15 min run.
