Overall Rank = 142/395
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 16/37
Pre-race routine:

Ate a little bit of eggs, bacon, biscuit with jam. Didn't drink a whole lot. Hurried out the door to make it before the park closed.
Event warmup:

None, woops. I was in a hurry. We were later than I had thought and I had to set up my transition area really quickly. I also had to hit the head (BAD!) before the race.
Swim
  • 27m 12s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 49s / 100 meters
Comments:

Good swim, smooth and easy. Conserved energy for the rest/could have gone harder. It was just a blurr. It was really long. Once I spun around that last bouy it was a little choppy from other swimmers. The sun was in my eyes as well.
What would you do differently?:

Push a little bit. I also need to get a little faster. I could use a lot more time in the pool. I am working on that.
Transition 1
  • 02m 8s
Comments:

Pretty smooth. A little slower than I had wanted but that is okay. I like using mountain shoes. I ran past a lot of people standing at the mount line getting on their bike. I was actually able to achieve a running mount.
Bike
  • 1h 15m 58s
  • 26.1 miles
  • 20.61 mile/hr
Comments:

Okay ride. Dropped water bottle. Went back to get it and foot stuck in clip. Fell in front of a few people and they had to swerve. I felt bad about messing them up but the fall didn't hurt at all. I got my bottle and started back again.
What would you do differently?:

Not drop my water bottle.
Transition 2
  • 01m 11s
Comments:

Smooth and fairly quick.
What would you do differently?:

not much
Run
  • 59m 27s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 34s  min/mile
Comments:

As best I could do. I pushed a little and at the end I push a lot. It was all I had left. Legs were like jello at the end. I almost fell over when the lady took my chip off my leg.
What would you do differently?:

Train harder for the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Tried not to pass out. Walked over to Lindsey. Took a dip in the lake.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training in the recent weeks.

Event comments:

I was very impressed with the race on race day. It went very well and smoothly. I had a blast. It was a great race.
