Pre-race routine:

I racked my bike the night before (race requirement). Got there a bit late on Sunday morning, and had to hurry a bit to get out of the transition area before it closed. No worries though, I've got that routine down.

Slipped on my wetsuit, then (inevitably) stripped down so I could hit the port-a-john. You'd think I'd learn.

Event warmup:

Jumped into the water and paddled around a bit!
Swim
  • 29m 8s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 46s / 100 yards
Comments:

A pretty good swim overall. Maybe a tad slower than I would have liked, but I kept it steady and navigated pretty well throughout.
Transition 1
  • 03m 24s
Comments:

A long run into transition, so this was actually a pretty quick time. Lots of Body Glide -- no problems with the suit.
What would you do differently?:

A little wobbly getting on the bike, but I didn't try to rush it too badly.
Bike
  • 1h 16m 3s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 19.60 mile/hr
Comments:

This was a very solid ride for me. Mainly a pretty easy course, but two long grades to deal with -- spun up those and handled them pretty well.
Transition 2
  • 01m 8s
Comments:

A nice smooth transition.
Run
  • 52m 17s
  • 6.5 miles
  • 08m 02s  min/mile
Comments:

A good run. Started with a slight cramp, but worked it out nicely. Good steady pace throughout. Ran by myself quite a bit, as the field was well strung out by the time of the run.
What would you do differently?:

Possibly could have gone a little harder, but I'm not sure of that. A good run. Got a blister from going sockless -- my shoe seems to rub one spot on my toe. A small price to pay!
Post race
Warm down:

Met my wife and sister, got a band-aid for my toe, and hit the massage line.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Pretty much right at my level of fitness. A good effort.

Event comments:

Transition area was tight in space and for the bike entrance/exit. Not a lot of room to work with at the venue site.
