Comments: Calves knotted up in transition. Then got big time side cramps at around mile 2. Worst run of the year. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Except drink more on the bike. Post race
Warm down: Walked for up to 30 minutes trying to get the stiffness out of my calves. Ate as much as I could because I was starving. What limited your ability to perform faster: Dehydration. #1 factor. Event comments: I will probably do it again next year just so I can show improvement. Last updated: 2007-07-06 12:00 AM

Since it was only a few hours from home we drove down that day. I had already googled the route and gone over it in my head a couple of times. Got there, got marked and chiped and then changed clothes. Took the bike to the rack and then went inside to warm up in the pool.
Since they were swimming across the pool, instead of with the lanes, it took me a bit to get used to it. Did about 200 yards and then waited to start.
