Comments: 6:48 pace : 3:17 at the turn No reason to blow it out here. Even if somebody beats me by 30 seconds....that is nothing. I can make that up with good transitions or riding 0.20 mph faster on the bike. What would you do differently?: I should have blown it out on the first mile and made up that 30 seconds. Moral to this Story: Every second counts Transition 1
Comments: 56 seconds What would you do differently?: get there earlier for better rack placement Bike
Comments: 21.5 mph - pretty happy with that got a little nauseous on my powerade at 1/2 strength --- or maybe it was the Cheetos ......tee hee hee may go back to Krispy Kremes What would you do differently?: I dunno. Transition 2
Comments: 00:54 seconds not sure how to make it faster may try to come out of shoes before dismount Run
Comments: 7:39 pace -----gotta do better than that need to run more shorter and faster in training got to get my speed back lose 10 more lbs...... Post race
Warm down: none watermelon and water What limited your ability to perform faster: I should have eaten 2 bags of Cheetos. Event comments: Although this ended up being a good race for me, I have some issues with this race. We should have been given the option to transfer into another race that this group puts on. I understand they already spent the money for trophys and DJ, etc. Those services should have rescheduling options negotiated into their contracts and the trophys & t-shirts could be stored until the next race day. I would never pay $95 to enter a duathlon or drive 50 miles for a race that won't even count toward a ranking. I even waited until later to make sure the race was still "on"; therefore, I paid a premium for waiting and still go screwed. 500 participants time $70 avg = $35,000 Don't tell me they would have "lost" money by rescheduling. Perhaps they may not have made as "much", but still it would be a profitable event. It is just bad business in my opinion. I'm still not happy about it. Race Packet: No Power Bar, No Clif Shots -- only a tacky little hat & T-Shirt........and a bunch of advertisements. 2 porti-poddies for 500 athletes in the transition area??? Who did the math on that ???? You can't "Blame it on the Rain". They knew how many people were coming. $5 spectator fee ???? What ??? Last updated: 2007-07-09 12:00 AM
