  • Comments: Very fun race. Announcer cracked me up about us not being the old lady wave, but the hot chick wave instead. Awesome volunteers passing out ice, cold towels, spraying down our feet, you name it. Very nice event!

  • Comments: Overall it was a good race. The goodies in the bag were nice (socks, a nice shirt, etc.). I liked that the bike course and run course were not completely flat. The bike course had some decent rollers on it even. There were plenty of aid stations and water, food, etc. at the end of the race. I also liked that they changed the run course from previous years, and we didn't have to run on the side of the highway on the black asphalt. That was a beat down in previous years. Overall a solid race.

  • Comments: Great race, lots of fun. Would have been nice if they could have had the results posted a little bit more quickly we might have tried to hand around a bit longer if we had known that I had placed in the age group. I usually figure that I am in no danger of winning anything so we went back into town for some early afternoon appointments. That being said, great race, well organized, lots of fun.

  • Comments: The only complaint I could come up with was that they didn't have mile markers on the bike or the run. If they did, I didn't see them. I think I saw a #2 painted on the pavement of the run course, but wasn't sure if that was our mile 2 or an old one from some other run. Then again, had I remembered my GPS watch, I wouldn't have had to rely on them to put those out for us.

  • Comments: Dallas Athletes races are the best races ever! Tom does a great job of creating a FUN atmosphere...better than 99% of races. If you get a chance to do a DA race, do it! And wear your disco gear, too...

  • Comments: This was a great showing by all the BTers! Lots of hardware all over! It was great to meet a few new people, and even better to feel like I had give alot more than any other race, and it got me hardware! I made a concerted effort to take all the "free" time I could in transition. Im really happy with that! If you look at the placing for each event, none are 5th or better, so the only way I got that was in transition.

  • Comments: Improved over last years' utter fiasco, but still needs improvement. The fiasco with the timing is just plain wrong. All it would really take is a timing mat at the beginning of the race. But I guess DA can't afford it. IRP and Playtri can for all of theirs, but I guess DA doesn't get the same discount. OK, stopping now before my rant continues.

  • Comments: It's always good to see BTers...and boy did the BT group take home a lot of hardware. The way the bike and run courses were set up...there were stretches of "out and back"...so you really could see the same person a few times...which happened with me - I saw Brandt (OldAg92) at least three times over the sprint, and I know I saw Steve (doughboy) much more than that! I saw Marcy (dodgersmom) on the run, and she of course high fived me...dejavu of Metroplex. Pictures posted are courtesy of Aaron (JeepFleeb) - he took some GREAT shots of the whole event!

  • Comments: Great things to say about the race itself. It was well organized, on time, plenty of volunteers and good course. The wheels fell off for the post race. The scoring was all jacked up. They did not have me registered as Athena, they had me in AG. Not a big issue except I would have taken 2nd in Athena but was BOP in AG. Oh well. They also has Steve listed as a woman. The awards ceremony took forever to start and when it did, it was totally disorganized. It was nice that they went 10 deep in awards, but they needed a plan. I also wish they had a packet pickup in the Ft. Worth area. Definite highlights from the day... Meeting Brittany in person Spending a Sunday, wearing spandax with some of my closest friends. All of the hardware taken home by the BT'ers Steve taking home hardware..I am so proud of you baby!! All in all, an awesome day!

  • Comments: This is the third tri put on by DSU that I have competed in, and I would say by far this was the best. The organization and number of volunteers was excellent. The race started @ 0705 instead of 0700, so that is why I said no to starting on time. I do not believe being 5m late contributed to any problems. Seeing other participtants in Disco regalia was so funny, and the band was great. I managed to get a slice of pizza, but when I was walking my bike back to the car I noticed they were out and the Oly runners were still coming in. So, the only suggestion I would make is more post-race food.

  • Comments: Overall a good race, although the whole disco thing was a little weird. Fun, but weird. I didn't have many expectations for me coming into the race as it's my first one of the year because of injury. But I performed much better than I had expected. My initial goals were: swim 10-12min, bike 1:05 - 1:20, and run :35-40. I met every one of those goals, and was on the lower end of them. I went back and looked at my old race logs, and for the ones that were a 5K run, this was my second fastest ever during a tri. So I am making improvements here, but I still have a lot of work left to do on the run. (and other parts as well)

  • Comments: I thought it was good considering what all Dallas Athletes had to change up because of the weather. Kuddos to Dallas Athletes. If I could swim, I'd probably plan to do this next year. They did need more porta-potties, but I think this resulted from the park facilities being closed due to flooding. Also, I'm not sure if there was some "special" arregano on the post-race pizza I ate, but the rest of the day I spent eating; for some reason I was constantly starved.

  • Comments: Although this ended up being a good race for me, I have some issues with this race. We should have been given the option to transfer into another race that this group puts on. I understand they already spent the money for trophys and DJ, etc. Those services should have rescheduling options negotiated into their contracts and the trophys & t-shirts could be stored until the next race day. I would never pay $95 to enter a duathlon or drive 50 miles for a race that won't even count toward a ranking. I even waited until later to make sure the race was still "on"; therefore, I paid a premium for waiting and still go screwed. 500 participants time $70 avg = $35,000 Don't tell me they would have "lost" money by rescheduling. Perhaps they may not have made as "much", but still it would be a profitable event. It is just bad business in my opinion. I'm still not happy about it. Race Packet: No Power Bar, No Clif Shots -- only a tacky little hat & T-Shirt........and a bunch
