Pre-race routine:

Set up both transition area the evening before the race. In the morning delivered water bottles to the bike, last minute bike check. Had a gel 45 and 15 minutes before race.
Event warmup:

Spent a few minutes paddling around the lake before swim start.
Swim
  • 11m 23s
  • 660 yards
  • 01m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

Pace in water was 1:33/100 yds (guess that course may have been a little short)
What would you do differently?:

I am not a strong swimmer (getting better). May have gone out a bit fast for my own good (high hr), but chance to draft off someone faster than me was too tempting to resist
Transition 1
  • 02m 29s
Comments:

Suit stuck a little. Need to work on wetsuit removal. There oughta be a class for that...

I don't jump on my bike- I'd probably kill myself...

Pebbles are a killer in T1 at Galena...
What would you do differently?:

Work on wetsuit removal.
Bike
  • 56m 41s
  • 16.8 miles
  • 17.78 mile/hr
Comments:

I really thought I was doing better than I did. HR between 155 and 162.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on muscular endurance in training. More aggressive on downhills.
Transition 2
  • 01m 14s
Comments:

I don't jump off my bike either...

Run
  • 34m 25s
  • 4.3 miles
  • 08m  min/mile
Comments:

HR between 162 and 172. No side stitches/cramping (often an issue for me).
What would you do differently?:

Push harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, had some food and water, nothin special.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

B-/C race, No taper. Work on bike muscular endurance.

Event comments:

Fun race, early in season, makes later bikes seem way easier...
