Pre-race routine:

Will never every do this again, I need a new breakfast routine.
Event warmup:

Stretched and water warmup
Swim
  • 33m 8s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 01s / 100 yards
Comments:

Bad, bad, and very bad. Started out great, I was flying past everybody and was not tired. I was way ahead and catching the previous waves. Then it got lonely, really lonely. I looked up and I am completely and totally off course!I verred off into the middle and didn't realize it. I was stopped by the kayik and was told to go back all the way around, I swam an extra 300-400 meters and knocked me off course. Then, I started feeling really sick. I could feel the oatmeal coming up and did not like the feeling. Then when I got out of the water I realized that I didn't start my watch.
What would you do differently?:

Next time, don't eat oatmeal. Practice siteing! Start watch when gun goes off.
Transition 1
  • 02m 56s
Comments:

I suck at the first transition, I couldn't get my shoes on. I was so tired from the extra swim that I felt really weak.
What would you do differently?:

Practice, Practice, Practice.
Bike
  • 1h 12m
  • 26 miles
  • 21.67 mile/hr
Comments:

I went too hard, I actually felt really good but the punishment I took on the run tells me that I must be riding too hard.
I was going really fast and I was passing alot of people.
What would you do differently?:

Ride in a more comfortable zone
Transition 2
  • 01m 29s
Comments:

I did well in the tranisition
What would you do differently?:

Just practice to move faster.
Run
  • 59m 41s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 09m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

Sucked, sucked, sucked. I thought I was going to die. With the bad breakfast, extra 400m swim, bad tranistions, and riding way too hard on the bike, oh and the heat with no shade, I was bound to have a bad run and I did. It is hard for me to understand why I can run 6 minute miles in training and then this happens. I need to incorporate a better training regimen when it comes to the run. I need to do hills, 400m repeats, fartlegs, tempo runs, etc. Enough 30 min runs through the streets, it is time to train.
What would you do differently?:

Everything.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Bad breakfast, bad swim, bad transition, bad run, heat. Basically I need more exprenice.

Event comments:

It was a good race.
