Swim
Comments: my goggles were broken, many thanks to a volunteer named Barbara who loaned me hers and a man in the kayak named Ken who paddled with me and kept me going when I wanted to quit. Race volunteers are GREAT PEOPLE, I really appreciate their getting up early to help us on our journeys What would you do differently?: MORE OWS practice! Transition 1
Bike
What would you do differently?: need to ride more challenging hills to train for this kind of race. Need to get more adept at reaching for the water bottle as well Transition 2
Run
Comments: water/gator aid available at 3 spots during the run used all of them on the way out and skipped the last ones on the way in as I wanted to finish with "red shirt guy" in front of me since I was pacing myself to him the way down the trail What would you do differently?: More hill/trail running to prepare for this type race Post race
Warm down: walk around, lots of water/juice waited around for the chiropractic students to help stretch my legs as they were cramping on the swim and run What limited your ability to perform faster: Head games about the swim-totally freaked myself out about it before touching a toe in then panicked early on in the swim which didn't help. Coach Bret would be ticked off at the swim performance today Event comments: overall ranked 10 in AG, have to look up how many women were in that group Last updated: 2007-07-25 12:00 AM
